Training

For the RDC/TMD, video materials are available for the clinical examination as well as the patient interview, and they are intended to provide guidance in how examination procedures are performed as well as to show how the RDC/TMD protocol is used in a clinical setting.

Materials for the DC/TMD are under development and will be posted when available.

Examiner Calibration and Reliability

In order to attain acceptable reliability for research studies, formal training through supervised skill development, calibration, and reliability assessment is described in further detail.

The Consortium is revising these procedures, as posted, and the examiner training and calibration process in use may differ from that described as currently posted here.
